HEBREWS 11: 1-3 NKJV Says “Now faith is the substance of things hope for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
By faith we accept and prayerfully understand the word of God. We as Christians do not always understand the how’s or whys of the scriptures, but we accept the entire word of God as true and infallible. It is only by faith that we can walk in obedience of God’s word. God tells us to trust him with our whole heart, yet without faith we are not able to do it. Faith is the foundation of every Christian’s life.
HEBREWS 11:6 NKJV Says “But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
We as the children of God, love Him, but without faith we cannot love Him, or follow Him, or even know Him. Speaking only for myself, I have never seen God, I have never heard God audibly, even touched Him. But I believe in Him, I love Him, I trust in Him, and I accept His word as true and infallible, all by faith. Why? Because God is faith worthy.
ROMANS 10:17 Says “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
We as followers of Jesus Christ must be willing to accept God and His word by faith. However, contrary to what many non-believers think, it is not blind faith. After many hours of study, and prayer, I have concluded that God is very worthy of my faith.
You ask why you should trust me and believe what I have told you. There is no good reason for you to trust me, or what I tell you. But you should check out God and His word for yourself. Have a little faith of your own.
We may not be able to prove the word of God is true and correct. There is no proof that shows the accuracy of the scriptures. However, when we look at the prophecies of the bible, we see how they have been fulfilled. We see how the prophecies and their fulfillments have been documented in both biblical and secular history. Those of us who accept the bible as our final authority, need no further proof. The world believes what they read in books or hears in lectures, because they have faith in the authors of the books or the integrity of the scholars giving the lectures. The world accepts many things by faith, just like Christians do, it is just that we put our faith in different sources. Who will you put your faith in?
In Joshua 24, Joshua told Israel: “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” I say to you, we all must put our faith in someone. Choose this day in whom you will put your faith.
Faith without works is dead. Put your faith to work!
