What Is It & How To Do It

[ad_1]

In this post, we will see how to check if your WordPress blog posts are ranking for the right keywords.

If you’ve spent hours writing a blog post, only to see it languish in obscurity, then you’re not alone. The truth is that so many people are trying to get their content seen by Google and other search engines that it’s difficult for even the best-written articles to rise above the noise.

And if that sounds discouraging, well—it should! But luckily there are some simple things you can do to make sure your WordPress blog posts rank as high as possible for relevant keywords as soon as they go live on your site

To get the most out of your time, it’s crucial that you’re ranking for the right keywords. A question I often hear beginning bloggers ask is, “How can I know if my blog posts are ranking for the right keywords?”

It’s a good question and one that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to. In order to find out if you’re ranking for the right keywords, you’ll want to examine certain aspects of your website and blog posts.

You already know that knowing if your blog posts are ranking for the right keywords is important. But have you ever looked into it? Today I’ll show you the best way to check.

Why Check Keyword Rankings for Your WordPress Posts?

Why Check Keyword Rankings for Your WordPress Posts?

If you’re a blogger, you know how much time and effort goes into writing a post. It takes a lot of research, time, and creativity to get the perfect post ready. Once that’s done, it can take months before you see any results from your efforts.

That’s why it is so important to monitor your rankings on search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo! And if you haven’t been checking them regularly, here are some reasons why you should:

You can find out if your content is being found by people searching for keywords related to your blog posts.

You can see which posts are working better than others and improve those that aren’t doing well.

How to Check If Your WordPress Blog Posts Are Ranking for the Right Keywords

1 Keyword is the foundation of any successful WordPress blog post

Keywords are the foundation of any successful WordPress blog post. Keywords are important for SEO, click-through rate (CTR), search engine optimization (SEO), and ranking. They also play a huge role in how search engines decide what your content is about.

So if keywords matter so much, how do you know which ones to use? There’s no one-size-fits-all solution because every niche has different needs and challenges. But there are some general guidelines that will help you make sure everyone from Google to users knows what your website is about:

  • Don’t overdo it! The number of keywords used in a post doesn’t matter as much as their relevance. Focus on getting long tail keywords correctly instead of common short ones; this will lead to more traffic overall than using many short generic terms.* Don’t let your personal preferences get in the way of higher rankings – if there’s something more relevant out there then go for it!

2 Make Sure You’re Ranking for the Right Keywords.

You should also check to see if your blog posts are ranking for the right keywords.

The first step is to see what keywords you rank for in Google, Bing, Yahoo, and AOL search engines. You can do so by using a variety of keyword ranking tools which are as follows:-

1 Semrush

Semrush is always my recommended tool for all digital marketing needs. It’s my favorite tool on this list as it provides tons of features which also include keyword checking.

It has everything you could possibly need for keyword research, including a keyword suggestion tool, a long-tail keyword research tool, and even a content research tool.

It comes with a strong organic research tool that can deliver keyword rankings for any domain name. Just enter the URL of your site and it will present you with all keywords which you are ranking for.

Semrush has been a top tool for a long time when it comes to rank-checking. It allows users to evaluate both the competitor as well as their content.

This allows you to see whether your content is ranking well or poorly in the search engines, and determine how to adjust your content to improve your search and rankings.

You can also track the volatility of Google search rankings due to core updates. It’s important to understand that what you see online can change in a matter of hours.

The best way to improve your position is to keep working and always fine-tune your content. You can do this by measuring how well you are performing on a regular basis.

This will help you to align your goals and your business strategy to your goals and your business strategy.

Try Semrush Free

2 Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a tool offered by Google to assist webmasters to enhance their websites for search.

You can see your website’s performance in search results, impressions, click-through rate, position, and more. It also lets you submit an XML sitemap which enables Google to crawl your website and index your post.

To view your keyword positions, click on the Performance report and then click on the average position score.

Now to look for the full list of keywords just go a little bit down:-

You can clearly see in the above image, that the top queries the site is ranking, the total number of clicks, impression, and position for those queries.

By sorting using position, you will be able to see your top-ranking keywords. You can also export this data and unfurl it with your favored spreadsheet software.

3 Ahrefs

Ahrefs is another one of my favorite tools and it’s very similar to Semrush when it comes to features. Ahrefs is another tool that is built on top of the technologies that Semrush built.

It has a broader coverage of the topic of SEO, but Ahrefs is more narrow in the specific information it provides, particularly to small businesses.

In addition, Ahrefs has a longer track record and is more successful at getting organic traffic, particularly from long-tail keywords.

Since it has a long history, it has been through a lot and has been able to refine its offerings and offerings to a point where it’s a very solid tool for any SEO.

It’s easy to use, comes packed with a lot of features, and is reasonably priced. I’d to recommend it!

Ahrefs delivers one of the finest rank checker tools. You can check rankings in any country of your choice like the USA, the UK, Australia, etc.

Simply enter your website domain name in the search box, and it will form a neatly categorized report with attractive graphs and charts.

You will find all your keyword rankings in the organic keywords report. You will see the keyword position next to the keyword mentioned. You’ll also be able to see its search volume, keyword ranking position, keyword density, and a lot more.

Try Ahrefs

4 Moz Keyword Explorer

Moz is well known trusted brand when it comes to the best SEO tools. Moz provides the best SEO tools on the internet.

It also delivers a great rank checker tool where you can fetch rankings of your keywords. Moz has been around for a long time and is a trusted brand.

Moz is a subscription service however in terms of features it’s not up to the mark of Semrush. You only pay for what services you need.

Moz is deemed by many as one of the best rank checking tools that are still going robust in the industry.

You can use Moz Keyword Explorer to find alternative keywords. On the other side, if you use the tool to explore a domain, it’ll display which keywords you’re ranking for.

If you’re looking for a rank-checking tool, Moz is a great place to start. It’s easy to use and provides you with a lot of information about your site’s performance. You can also find a lot of useful articles and guides for a lot of different topics.

Try Moz Keyword Explorer

5 Spyfu

Spyfu is a great tool for checking what keywords you and your competitors are ranking for, but it can also be used to determine if you’re ranking for the right keywords.

For example, let’s say you have a WordPress blog and want to make sure that your blog posts are getting the most traffic from Google. The first step is to log in to your Spyfu account.

In the SEO Overview section, SpyFu will deliver a list of the multiple valuable keywords on the site. You can also see keyword rank gains and losses, which may help steer strategies to revise content.

SpyFu will bust down your keywords in different reports to provide you with an idea of how the site is performing. For example, you can inspect the ranking history of the site initiating with the top 10 keywords.

Using Keyword Rankings to Get More Traffic

When it comes to SEO and keyword rankings for your site, there are many factors that can affect them.

For example, if you’re using a WordPress website and want to boost your rankings in Google search results, you might be wondering how to do it.

The good news is that there are various ways that you can increase the number of visitors coming to your site by improving your keywords and search rankings. Let’s look at three ways that you can do this:

  1. Use long-tail keywords
  2. Optimize the on-page content
  3. Add more content

Conclusion

It’s important to remember that keyword research is an ongoing process. It takes time, thoughtfulness, and patience to discover the right keywords for your blog posts. But if you put in the work now, you’ll be rewarded with more traffic later on down the line!

There are several tools you can use to monitor your WordPress keywords, such as SEMrush and Ahrefs. In both tools, all you have to do is enter the URL you want to check for, and the tool will present you the list of keywords it’s ranking for.
