If someone happens to be passing, could you poke your head in and find out who Sauron is? Thanks.
Despite some of the differeing opinions you might have seen on social media, The Rings Of Power has been a big hit for Amazon. So much so that production on its second season has already begun, more than a week before season one’s finale has even aired.
The reveal that filming for Rings Of Power season two has already begun comes courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter. Work on season two of the Lord of the Rings spinoff is underway at Bray Studios on the outskirts of London. While the first season was filmed in New Zealand, in keeping with the 20-year-old trilogy, production has been moved to the other side of the world for season two for economic and logistical reasons.
On top of being cheaper, Amazon is in the process of setting up a hub for all of its shows in the UK. A collection that will also include God of War and Mass Effect adaptations at some point in the future. As for what Rings Of Power fans can expect from season two, since season one is yet to come to a close, it’s hard to even predict what might await us and the show’s cast in Middle-earth.
Even though there are just two episodes left to go, a number of the mysteries that have been the foundation of season one are yet to be revealed. The biggest of those mysteries is the potential Sauron reveal. Spoilers ahead if you’re not all caught up on the show, but last week’s explosive episode saw the formation of Mount Doom. However, a number of characters could still be revealed to be Sauron before the season is done.
Whether fair or not, Rings Of Power and House of the Dragon running in tandem has resulted in the two fantasy shows being directly compared each and every week. While the Game of Thrones prequel might be pulling 30 million viewers per episode, it was recently revealed the Rings Of Power’s first two episodes were watched for more than a billion minutes during its opening weekend.
